Trekking in Langtang
There’s nothing quite like the hiking challenge presented by the Himalayas – are you ready to conquer it? More than just Everest Base Camp, this trek in the Kathmandu Valley is one that gives people a different perspective on the valleys and peaks of Nepal. Hike up through an ever-changing landscape of flower-filled fields and lush green forests before emerging among monasteries and villages. As a reward, take in the impressive sight of the Langtang Glacier and stay in rustic villages and monasteries. If you’re longing to get off the overcrowded path from Base Camp, this unique hike is the perfect solution.
Transport to and from Kathmandu. Hike in the Langtang region (10-day). English-speaking local guide and assistants for the trek. Lunch at The Sisterhood of Survivors Project, a G Adventures-supported project. All transport between destinations and to/from included activities.
Uncrowded trails among the impressive peaks of the Himalayas, trek upwards through differing ecosystems, marvel at rhododendron and larch forest, visit small villages and monasteries.

Enjoy a guided tour of Swayambunath, Bodhinath Temple, and Durbar Square. Visit the Sisterhood of Survivors Project and enjoy an authentic Nepalese style lunch.

Day 3 Kathmandu/Syābru Bensi
It’s a full day of driving to reach Syabru Besi. Enjoy a teahouse accommodation for the night.
Day 4 Syābru Bensi/Lama Hotel
It’s a full day of hiking today. Leave Syabru Besi and hike to Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104 ft), passing through villages and past rhododendron forests along the way.
Langtang Trekking Day 1
Day 5 Lama Hotel/Lāngtāng
Enjoy a full day of hiking from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3420m/11,220.5 ft). There are gradual ascents on the trek today, through varied forests.
Langtang Trekking Day 2
Day 6 Lāngtāng/Kyanjing Gompa
Enjoy a full day hiking to Kyanjing Gompa (3,780m/12,401.6 ft). Hike through yak pastures and the small villages of Muumdu and Sindum en route. After entering a wide valley, descend to Kyanjing Gompa.

Day 7 Kyanjing Gompa/Lama Hotel
It’s another full day hiking. Return to Lama Hotel, following the route to Langtang village and downwards from there.
Langtang Trekking Day 4
Day 8 Lama Hotel/Syābru
Strap your boots on, there’s more uphill hiking today. Head to the village of Thula Syabru (2,250m/7,382 ft), home to the Tamang community. Stop in the village to learn about some of the local traditions and culture.
Langtang Trekking Day 5
Day 9 Syābru/Chandanbari
Full day hiking to Chandan Bari (3,330m/10,925 ft). Climb further upwards today, with spectacular Himalayan views on all sides.
Langtang Trekking Day 6
Day 10 Chandanbari/Gosāin Kund
It’s a full day of hiking to Gosainkunda (4,380m/14,370 ft). Reach one of the highlights of the trek today, hiking to Gosainkunda Lake. An important religious site, Gosainkunda is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri in Hindu mythology.
Langtang Trekking Day 7
Day 11 Gosāin Kund/Thāre Pāti
Lace up your boots for another full day of hiking. Trek over the Gosainkunda Pass (4,610m/15,124.7 ft), the highest point on the journey. Continue downwards to the lodges of Tharepati (3,690m/12,106.3 ft).
Langtang Trekking Day 8
Day 12 Thāre Pāti/Kutumsang
After several full days hiking, today is a free day to rest and enjoy some of the spectacular scenery around the Himalayas. In the afternoon, transfer to Kutumsang (2,470m/8,104 ft).

Day 13 Kutumsang/Chisopani
Continue to Chisopani today (2,265m/7,431 ft), where there are excellent views across the Himalayas, including a chance to get a glimpse of magnificent Mt Everest.
Langtang Trekking Day 9
Day 14 Chisopani/Kathmandu
It’s a shorter day’s hike today, leaving Chisopani for Sundarijal, with the last chance to soak up the mountain views. Transfer to Kathmandu in the afternoon.
